I’m currently sat in Buenos Aires airport waiting to fly home having completed my ride across South America. I can’t quite believe it. It was incredibly tough both mentally and physically with long days in the saddle on long straight roads but the scenery in the high Andes was amazing. The bike performed really well and so too the shoes which were my original ones and that’s thanks to you and your patience getting the right position for me on the bike so thanks so much.
I'm a 3 time customer of Adam. I used him first for my TT bike, correcting the errors of a previous fitter. It now fits me like a glove - I've completed multiple 70.3s with my new fit and I've seen a marked improvement in comfort, bike performance *and* my run off the bike. He then came out to my house to work on my Wahoo KICKR bike (I do a *lot* of Zwifting). Finally, he sorted out my new road bike - again, with the careful, conscientious attention to detail I've come to expect. As someone with more than a few physical issues (eg arthritic knees from old football injuries), I'm keenly aware that the right fit is critical. I now cycle pain-free and hope to do so for many more years. I can't recommend Adam highly enough - we spend £££ on our bikes, a few more on a good fit is money well spent. And you won't do better than Adam.
I've visited Adam 3 times over the last 5 years and he's been outstanding each and every time. I cannot recommend him high enough!
The first time was a full bike fit as i'm between frame sizes and really needed some professional help. Adam was patient in his approach to first understand my riding ambitions and then test my flexibility/bio-mechanics before getting onto the bike. We made a number of changes and tweaks (lifted the handlebars, lifted the seat, pushed the seat forward, tweaked the cleats, included some inserts between the cleats and the shoe, built a little arch support for the shoe innersole and recommended 3 options of a different saddle). These combined changes instantly made me feel much safer on the bike, more comfortable on the drops, released any tension across the back and shoulders and raised my average speed.
I have returned twice to see Adam (once with new shoes to fit cleats on and once for another general assessment given its been 4 years since he last took a look at my riding position).
Superb service from Adam, an all round great guy, oh and i got some really good insights from Adam on my running style too! Thank you once again Adam
Just wanted to thank you for your help with the bike setup before Red Bull Timelaps. The event itself was an incredible experience but the weather could have been better as we experienced some really high winds on the Saturday and the rain did not stop until quite late into the night. Many of the teams were having real difficulties keeping their gazebos and marquees tied to the ground and some of them even ended up clearing the enclosure and ending up on the course.
This made the event very hard to start with and the high winds meant that those with deep sections wheels (such as myself) had to hold on tight to stop coming off the course. Although it was tough going at times I never felt out of control and the bike was set up perfectly for me. Having a bike I could trust though some of the fast corners on the course meant that I had the confidence to push hard and I felt in full control. I had a few issues in the night where I punctured leaving the pit area on my way to doing the power hour at 2am. I had to run back to the pits and change my tube, as the one I had in my pocket was faulty, but in my haste I left my tyre levers behind. Due to all the debris on the track I then experienced another puncture on the furthest part of the track which I had to fix without my levers. This is tricky enough to do but at 3am in the dark with no sleep it was very hard. Eventually I managed to do it before heading back to the pits for my next team mate to take over.
My next stint on the course was when the sun rose and the sky had cleared, which meant a lovely blue sky, and this certainly lifted my spirits.
Overall it was a great experience and something I’ll remember. Whether I’ll do it again is another story!
Had my first bike fit with Adam and was super impressed with his professionalism and knowledge! He took the time to first get to the bottom of what was causing my aches and pains on and off the bike. This was then translated into setting the bike up and what a difference! More power and efficiency, especially up hills and I felt like doing another 50k when I got home! The excersises Adam gave me to continue improving my issues have been excellent so far and I will continue with these going forward. Every cyclist should get a bike fit and I highly recommend Adam for this!
Thanks to Adam to making me more comfortable on my bike! It is 3 hours well spent!
Just a quick note to say thank you so much for all of your help.
I've had two club rides on the Canyon now, and I'm climbing like a demon!
I suspect there are a number of factors:
* a better, lighter bike
* I'm doing a Watt Bike session every week
* everybody else is riding their winter bikes!
But, the overwhelming difference is the set up. I'm staying fresh through the rides, no pain (I didn't realise what that felt like) and I always just want to push on, rather than just hanging on!
At the end of my first 45 miler I had enough energy to set the fourth best time ever up the hill I live on!
You've transformed my riding, and I'm very grateful!
Thanks very much, and have a great Christmas!
I was looking into getting a bike fit done after buying a new bike and having a few long distance triathlons booked it. I was recommended Adam by one of the coaches in my triathlon club. And what a recommendation it was.
Booked in with Adam for a Retul bike fit. After 3 hours of stretches, adjusts and pedaling we were done. I honestly didn't realise how much went into a bike fit. Adam started with questions about what I wanted from the bike fit and If I had or have any problems with my current bike fit.
Adam them assessed my flexibility, or not so in my case. Then went in to show me exercises I should be doing to improve my flexibility and what I should be stretching and rolling. I can openly say I learnt a lot.
Then it was on to the bike. Cleats and shoes adjust, seat raised and adjusted and stem dropped. In no time I had awesome and much better fitting bike. Adam also spent time setting up my clip on aero bars. So I was much more comfortable and able to relax on them.
After a couple of short 12/15miles rides to get used to the new fit. Then yesterday after my first 45mile longest ride since the bike fit. All I can say is WOW! Just amazing. The bike feels aweosme. More Comfort. Feels like I have more Power. I even enjoyed climbing the hills. Well kind of.
Just want to say a massive thank you to Adam for not just a great bike fit. But also for his knowledge and advise. Learnt so much in the 3 hours I was there.
If you're thinking of getting Adam to give you a bike fit. Don't thinking about it. JUST DO IT!
Thank you again Adam!
I had a Retul bike fit with Adam in April this year, my cycling performance and comfort on the bike have both improved significantly. In addition to the Retul fit, Adam provided an orthotic support in my right shoe to resolve a long standing issue, made a number of adjustments to my bike and gave me advice on exercises to improve my lower back and hip weakness. His sports science knowledge and Retul expertise enable him to provide a unique and friendly service. Since seeing Adam my average speed has increased and as a direct result of his intervention I have lost over 5 kilos in weight!
Adam, another massive thank you for another superb year.
Your analysis, insight and immediate feedback on every session and race has made training an absolute pleasure again this year. What I've loved again is the absolute individuality and tailoring of all my training sessions, blocks, periods, warm-ups, nutrition - the list goes on and on! All with constant discussion, so it not only has a great effect, but has absolutely the right effect for every race. Great job in taking a complete road and circuit racing novice to a 2nd cat racer in 2 years (at the modest age of 38 too!) Looking forward to more of the same in 2017
